Welcome!

Welcome! We have been waiting patiently for the launch of this blog and are so thrilled to finally have it up! For those of you who don’t know, we are the Rimestad’s, and we are currently in training at New Tribes Missionary Training Center in the good ol’ state of Missouri! We have summed up what we are doing in three words. Go, Share, Build. Here is the short version. Go: Our passion is to go to an unreached tribe for the sake of Jesus' name to be made known where it currently is not. We go, leaving all that we hold dear, friends and family, because we hold very dearly the words of Jesus that tell us to, "Go and make disciples of every nation." We are going not just because of the command but because of the promise that every nation, all tribes, languages and peoples will worship God before the throne one day. Share: Our aim in going to an unreached tribe is to share the good news of what God has done through Jesus Christ for the world and for the sake of their salvation. This will take time. We will learn an undocumented language, create an alphabet in order to teach them their spoken language and give them a written language. Once this process is complete we will be able to share with them where they have come from and what their creator has graciously done on their behalf. They will, for the first time in their history, hear, see, and hopefully experience the liberating news of Jesus Christ. Build: Our task to complete is not just to go, learn the language, share the Gospel and then leave. Our task is to help build up, hopefully and prayerfully, the brand new believers that have submitted themselves under Christ's kingship. We want to see them sustained by the Holy Spirit, bearing fruit, established in leadership and reproducing what God has taught them among their neighbors. Our task is accomplished by translating the Bible in their heart language, helping to disciple young believers and developing elders and deacons for the responsibility of equipping the saints for the work of the ministry. We will then, at that point, be able to transition out of the tribe for their health and prosperous future as the Church. We have a five minute video of our trip to Papua New Guinea we took in 2012 and a few other videos about who we are and what we are about to do up on our website. Check it out if you haven’t already! If you aren’t already receiving our monthly newsletter and would like to you can sign up for that on our website as well by clicking on partner and then connect. Now that you know who we are and what we are about to do I hope you enjoy reading the blog and keeping up to date with what the Lord has planned for our lives, for those who are partnering with us and for the lives of a tribe we will some day be in. We are excited to share this journey with you. Until all hear, Emily
